IMPORTANT: Don't forget an ID Card or Passport. You cannot play without it.

To end this magnificent season and commemorate as you all deserve we organise a small party at Cessange. We would like to see you all there : players not selected, injured, parents, brothers and sisters, girlfriends, friends, friends of friends. Please come, the weather looks promising (22° !)  

As usual (but this time even more) I regret we cannot play all of you. Unfortunately it’s the way it is and we still can only align 22 players.
This season 43 of you have already experienced to be on the pitch in an official game. We’ll give the same opportunity to some more on Saturday. For the players selected I’m counting on your usual commitment. For the players not selected, you know you’re fully part of the team and it just happens you don't play this game. There will be plenty of opportunities next season and don't forget it will be First Division.
The players in standby should come at 12:00 and bring the rugby gear. If there's a last minute absence, you're in.

Please, if you're not available to play on Saturday let me know as soon as possible.

This weekend there are no games in Belgium Cadets Division 2.

For the boys born in 95 this will be a week end without rugby. Take a rest, you deserved it. The league will resume on the 26^th and we still have two games to go.

Some of the boys born in 94 have been selected to represent Luxembourg in a Test Game against Netherlands U18.

The game will take place in Amsterdam on Saturday. Kick off 14:00.

Departure Friday at 16:00 from Glacis. Don’t forget an ID Card.

With two games still to play, U17 are virtually champions of Division 2 and promoted to Division 1.

Charleroi 12 - Luxembourg 90

Luxembourg:

Luxembourg travelled to Charleroi knowing a victory would secure the promotion to Division 1 but also knowing it could be a difficult game against the 3rd in the table.
The suspense didn’t last long. With a demolishing 15 minutes where they score 5 tries, Luxembourg stopped short any hopes Charleroi could have to contest the game.
It started on the 2nd minute when, in the opposition half, Luxembourg won a scrum against and after two fast passes Callum Bonallo took advantage of a gap in defence.
From the kick off, the ball was well caught, the forwards fixed the defence and the ball went all the way the back line to find Christopher Rossa in space. Simple but efficient.
On the 11th minute, Luxembourg was awarded a penalty at 5m. The forwards fixed the defence and Martin Pacaud entered in the gap. From the restart kick another try and the same simple but efficient play. Ball in forwards, defence fixed in the ruck and the ball recycled to the backs. This time Gauthier Lachaise made the final run.
After this storming start, Luxembourg relaxed and became more individualist, giving away penalties after tackle or losing the ball for lack of support. It gave Charleroi some territory and time with the ball.
On the 22nd minute, from one of the penalties, 5m from the line, Charleroi forwards managed to force their way to the try line.
Charleroi reaction had the effect of alert for Luxembourg and quickly they were back in the game scoring two tries just before half time.
After taking the game close to the opposition end zone they were awarded a penalty. The forwards were stopped near the line but from the subsequent ruck, the ball went to Christopher and he scored.
One minute later and from another penalty at half way, the ball was quickly played to the backs founding Martin on the wing with space to run. Martin converted 5 of the tries and half time arrived with the score at 45-7 to Luxembourg.
Second half wasn’t much different and curiously ended with exactly the same score as first half. Luxembourg started well again and scored after 3 minutes on the game.
Starting from own 22, the back line moved the ball perfectly and Julian Vercruysse scored on the corner. Charleroi reacted and were awarded by another try.
On the 36th minute, from a lucky penalty and very much like their first try, Charleroi forwards forced their way to the try line. It didn’t impress Luxembourg and with fresh blood on the pitch, the boys went to business as usual.
41st minute and Christian Olsen went to the end zone in force after several rucks. 6 minutes later, Callum made a solo run and when tackled the close support gave the ball to Christopher to score.
Two more minutes and Callum found another gap in defence. Charleroi finally gave up and Luxembourg could score 3 more tries in the last 5 minutes. Christopher started a solo run in his 22 ending with a try.
Callum scored his third of the afternoon after a good back move and in the last seconds, Christopher had still time to pass the defence and to give the ball to Pedro Ramos who only had to touch the ground.
Martin converted another 5 tries to settle the final score at 90-12 to Luxembourg.
This was certainly the best performance of the Luxembourg Cadets this season. The way they played, with close support always available, conquerors in the rucks, dominant in line outs and scrums
and finishing with perfect timed passes never gave opposition any chance.
With this victory Luxembourg Cadets are virtually champions of Belgium Division 2 and promoted to First Division. Congratulations.

Man of the Match: Martin Pacaud

Luxembourg:

With a lot of absences due to injuries, illness and school holidays Luxembourg aligned a very young team with some boys playing in positions they are not used to and two boys making their start in the first team. This and knowing Liege has more quality then their position in the table might suggest, could make on doubtful about the final score.

However, the boys were not impressed. Opening the score right after the start of the game and with a devastating first half, any hopes Liege could have were soon vanished and the spectator never had any doubt about whom the winner would be.

In the first 15 minutes Luxembourg dominated all the action and was rewarded with 3 tries by Christopher Rossa on the wing. The first came inside the second minute when the forwards took the action to the right. The ball was played quickly and all the way to the left finding Christopher with plenty of space to run. The second and third were almost identical: scrum on the right, the backs ran the ball with perfect passes and the rest was Christopher’s speed into space.

Around the 20^th minute, Luxembourg scored two consecutive tries. The first one was an all forwards effort as they negotiated well 5 successive rucks till the ball ended with Yannick Boone scoring in force. After receiving the ball from kick off, the action went again to Liege 22. A couple of good rucks and passes allowed Robert Irons to find a gap and score.

Before the end of the half, Luxembourg scored again two tries.  Luxembourg counter attacked from a Liege deep kick only to lose the ball after the tackle. A Liege player made a careless pass intercepted by Leopold Dumont who just had to run to the try line. In the dying seconds of the first half, another deep kick this time perfectly negotiated by Martin Pacaud avoiding the defence and scoring. Benji Simpson converted all the tries and half time arrived with the score at 49-0.

Both sides continued to work hard in second half but there was less entertainment then in first half. Liege came to the pitch with the intention of not being completely crushed and spent most of the first 10 minutes testing Luxembourg‘s defence. The boys stood firm and took well everything Liege threw at them although a couple of actions were stopped dangerously close to the end zone. With Liege unable to score, the game became less interesting with actions in both sides of the pitch but no real danger. The only moments worth mentioning are the last two tries to

Luxembourg.  On the 11^th minute, William Dennis scored in a solo effort penetrating into Liege defense from his half. On the 48^th minute and when Liege started kicking a lot more, a good catch on the wing, a quick ruck and a couple of good passes sent Martin on an enormous gap to score his second in the afternoon. Benji converted all but one of the tries and the final whistle came with the score 61-0 to Luxembourg.
